Tri-Valley Haven currently runs the only confidential domestic violence shelter in the Tri-Valley and is the only shelter that accepts teenage boys as part of families. Unfortunately, after so many years of successfully housing families, the domestic violence safety shelter, is in decline. The best and most economical way for Tri-Valley Haven to serve local families, and to meet the growing need for emergency shelter, is to build a new facility with 50% more capacity (we will have 45 beds instead of the current 30). The campaign to raise funds for the new shelter began in October 2022. With a budget of 7.8 million, with the help of the County of Alameda, cities of Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin, Sunlight Giving, Fremont Bank Foundation, and other incredible individual and foundation support, Tri-Valley Haven has raised more than 80% of the funding. Tri-Valley Havens Building Together dinner gala to help raise funds for the shelter rebuild is scheduled on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Robert Livermore Community Center. The emcee for the program is the Mayor of Dublin, Melissa Hernandez. The gala will also celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the shelter rebuild.
